Organisers of ConsILR 2026

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CTI) and the English Department (ED) are pleased to organize this conference focused on linguistic resources and tools for Natural Language Processing (NLP). Building on their strong expertise in digital education, artificial intelligence, software development, linguistics, literary studies, and cultural analysis, the two departments bring together the academic knowledge and technical infrastructure required to support a high-impact international event.

Computer Science and Information Technology Department

The CTI department is a dynamic academic unit dedicated to education and research in computing and information technology. It offers a range of programs at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, providing students with a solid foundation in core areas such as programming, algorithms, software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence.

CTI contributes to the successful organisation and scientific depth of this conference through its expertise in:

  • Natural Language Processing techniques and applications
  • Large Language Models (LLMs) and linguistic data modelling
  • Development of accessible, responsive, and pedagogically sound digital materials —relevant for linguistic datasets, annotated corpora, and NLP learning resources
  • Methodologies for digitally assisted training, gamified and interactive learning modules
  • Creation of frameworks and IT support systems that enhance the effectiveness of training in NLP tools, language technologies, and AI-assisted linguistic analysis
  • Digital tools for transversal skills
  • Design of systems that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and interdisciplinary skills — key for research in computational linguistics
  • Development of applications that support experimentation with language models, text processing, and AI-driven linguistic exploration
  • Image recognition and processing
  • Data mining and knowledge discovery

English Department

The English Department, founded in 1975, is an important academic unit dedicated to the study of English language, literature, and culture. The department offers a full range of academic programs, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies, allowing students to pursue advanced research in fields such as linguistics, literary studies, and cultural analysis. Students can specialize in English, often in combination with Romanian or other foreign languages, and develop expertise in areas such as translation, interpretation, and communication.

The department plays a key role in training future professionals while also supporting academic research through its doctoral programs, which contribute to the development of new knowledge in language and literature.

Alongside other departments, it enhances students’ linguistic competence, critical thinking, and intercultural awareness, preparing graduates for careers in education, media, research, and international environments, and reinforcing its role as a vital component of the university’s academic and cultural mission.
